BNI dream team take on challenge for Glasgow’s Golden Generation

Duo Jackie Pousson and Colin Nisbet are teaming up to take on the 26 mile “Mighty Stride” at this year’s Kiltwalk to raise funds for Glasgow’s Golden Generation who support older adults in the city.

Web Development business owner Jackie and Mortgage Broker Partner Colin are joining forces to tackle the marathon-length challenge to raise funds for their BNI chapter’s chosen charity.

Neither Jackie nor Colin have taken part in the Kiltwalk before, but after seeing first-hand the vital work Glasgow’s Golden Generation does in the city, they wanted to get involved.

Jackie said,

“Colin and I are tasked to start a new BNI chapter in Glasgow, BNI Synergy. BNI are a business referral group and as part of this we invited Glasgow’s Golden Generation on board as a charity partner.”

“The group meets weekly so over the past few months we’ve been hearing about the great work the charity does in Glasgow.”

Colin continued,

“We both popped in to one of the charity’s day care centres to see how they reduce loneliness and isolation in older adults – the atmosphere was so welcoming and we could really see the difference they make.”

Glasgow’s Golden Generation has a range of services for older adults across Glasgow including 2 day centres, a befriending service, digital inclusion work, benefits advice and weekly clubs. The charity was founded in 1948 – the same year as the NHS – meaning it has been supporting older adults for over 75 years.

Throughout the city the charity supports over 2300 older adults and is often described as a “lifeline” and “family” to those who use it.

You join Jackie and Colin in supporting GGG at the Kiltwalk by visiting and choosing Glasgow’s Golden Generation as their charity.
