Fred Paton was appointed director/secretary of the Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Committee in 1963. It was his suggestion to build an innovative centre for older people in Carrington Street, St George’s Cross. It was decided to change its name to the Fred Paton Centre as an acknowledgement of his hard work and commitment both to the committee and to the Carrington Club.

The centre is open every week day from 8:45am to 4:30pm.
The centre operates a mini bus service which is available to anyone who has problems providing their own transport. Pick ups begin from 9am and return the service users to their front doors from 3:30pm. If you prefer to make your own way to the centre, you are welcome to come in from 9.30am onwards.
Our service costs £13 per day if you wish to be picked up.
On arrival you will be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee and toast with other service users.
We provide service users with a home cooked three course meal. We can cater for any dietary requirements you may have, please let us know your requirements in advance.
Lunch is served at around noon.
Tea or coffee and biscuits are served in the afternoon.
