Mattie Carwood was an active and dedicated member of the Glasgow Old People’s Welfare Committee both as the convener of the Calton Club in the East End, chair of the East District Committee and also a a member of our executive committee for many years. It was decided to change the name of the Helenvale Day Centre to the Mattie Carwood Day Centre in her memory.

It was decided to change the name of the Helenvale Day Centre to the Mattie Carwood Day Centre in her memory.
The Mattie Carwood Centre is open every weekday from: 8:45am to 4:30pm.
The centre operates a mini bus service which is available to anyone who has problems providing their own transport. Pick ups begin from 9:15am and return the service users to their front doors from 3pm. If you prefer to make your own way to the centre, you are welcome to come in from 9.30am onwards.
Our service costs £10 per day if you wish to be picked up, or £8 for drop-ins.
On arrival you will be welcomed with tea or coffee and toast.
We provide service users with a home cooked three course meal. We can cater for any dietary requirements you may require, please let us know in advance.
Lunch is served around noon.
Tea and coffee is served in the afternoon.

They will assess your care needs and, with permission, transfer your details to ourselves. We will then arrange a friendly home visit and discuss with you which days we can provide for you, suited to your personal preferences if possible. IF there are no spaces available we do have a waiting list process and you will be contacted when the next available space is open to you.
