This month we had the Glasgow Evening Times in our David
Cargill Day Centre in the Southside of the city. They found out about how our
staff and volunteers are using music as a way of ensuring that service users
with dementia can take part in activities and have an enjoyable experience when
they are in the centre.
We have recently received a £5,066 boost from Foundation Scotland for a member of staff to dedicate
their time towards integrating people with dementia into their programs.
Lynsey Neilson
is our Dementia Champion at Glasgow’s Golden Generation. She said: “When
you bring in music, it gives you a window and an opportunity to talk to older
adults. There is no confusion there because they talk about the music and how
it makes them feel.”
